What is this 5G network?
Why is everyone talking about the original 5G network

Reliance India has announced that it may bring its 5G services soon. Mukesh Ambani’s announcement from the Mobile India Congress (IMC 2020) made everyone look towards 5G. That is to say, the 5G smartphone race has definitely started in India.

Until yesterday, 5G phones were available in India, but when will the 5G network be available in our country? Remains an unanswered question. However, others are questioning when the original 4G will work at the proper full speed. The answer to all these will be found in the year 2021.

Reliance Jio may announce its 5G services in the country by the second half of 2021. However, in order to know why everyone is talking about the original 5G network, one must first know the complete things like what this 5G network is, how it works, and how fast it is. Hence, let’s get fully aware of the 5G network.

What is the original 5G?

The original 5G was, in a word, more advanced technology than the current 4G LTE technology. It is believed that fifth-generation technology is coming to occupy this position under the name of 5G, just as 4G has taken its place in the pre-existing 3G. This means that it can be seen as the fifth standard of this position.

It is built to work faster than the current 4G LTE technology. However, it’s not just about speeding up the internet on smartphones, it’s also about making wireless internet faster and accessible to everyone everywhere. Cars can also be connected through this 5th generation latest technology. You can control your cars very easily even with smartphones. It may be possible to use 5G to replace 4G LTE technology in the same way we use 4G today.

How does a 5G network work?

5G requires a lot of technology to deliver the fastest speeds. However, this is not just about innovation, and so on. IEEE Spectrum Magazine does a great job of explaining most technical details in more depth, but here we are going to explain it to you in detail.

This new standard uses the newest radio spectrum band from 4G. 5G takes advantage of “millimeter waves”, which are transmitted in bands less than 6GHz between 30GHz and 300GHz versus bands. These have been used in the past. These were previously used only for communication between satellites and radar systems.

But there is a problem here, which is that millimeter waves cannot easily travel through buildings or other concrete objects. So, 5G will also take advantage of the “small particles” – small micro stations can be placed up to 250 meters in urban areas. These provide better coverage in such places.

These base stations use “MIMO extensively”. MIMO stands for “Multi-Input Multi-Output”. You may also have a home wireless router with MIMO technology, which means it has multiple antennas. It can be used to talk on many wireless devices without changing the center.
