What is your favorite TikTok you’ve ever made?
My favorite TikTok I’ve made so far would probably be my process video behind the thrifted doll head look. This outfit was made for my graduating fashion show in 2019 with my project partner Oliverio Carrillo under mentorship with B. Akerlund. I decided to revisit this project and make a video this past Halloween, and was shocked by the overwhelming response. I loved going through the comment section and reading the contradicting feedback like, “Terrifyingly beautiful,” or “I’m uncomfortable, but this should’ve been at the Camp-themed Met Gala.” It was the first video to reach a million views (which I still can’t believe). Never thought TikTok would get me recognized in Vogue, and it only further justifies my reasoning for joining the app to begin with.
What’s the next big idea you want to tackle on TikTok?
I would love to plan a live video where I’m creating and talking through my process, or doing a specific tutorial someone has requested. I consider myself an OCD perfectionist at times, and love the idea of just going live and seeing where that takes me instead of spending so much time editing one video.
