Niagara Police seeking help to identify sexual assault suspect
Officers say they responded at around 5:30 p.m., in Welland’s Merritt Island area on May 26.
Police say a woman told officers a man on a mobility scooter approached her while sitting alone and sexually assaulted her.
Police say the woman didn’t seem to have any physical injuries.
Police describe the suspect as a heavy-set white man in his 50s, with short white or grey hair. He was last seen wearing a dark navy baseball hat, white t-shirt, tan cargo shorts and white shoes.
He also has a large scar on his left knee.
Police say the woman and the suspect didn’t know each other.
