Motorcyclist dies following Lancashire collision – police appeal for dashcam footage
The motorcyclist, a 61-year-old man from Bootle, was treated at the scene by paramedics from the North West Ambulance Service and the North West Air Ambulance before being taken to the Royal Aintree Hospital where he sadly died.
The man was travelling with two friends when the collision happened.
His family have been informed and are being supported by a Family Liaison Officer.
Sgt Marc Glass, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “An investigation has commenced to establish the cause of this collision.
“My thoughts are with the man and his family at this difficult time.
“In the coming days we will be speaking with witnesses and conducting CCTV enquiries in the area.
“If you witnessed the incident and have not already spoken to police, please get in touch as soon as possible. Further, if you were driving in the area at the time of this incident and have any dashcam footage we would ask that you please contact us.”
