Man in his 30s dead after Toronto shooting



A man in his 30s has died after a shooting in Toronto on Wednesday night, police and paramedics say.

The shooting happened in the area of Lawrence Avenue East and Mossbank Drive, east of Scarborough Golf Club Road. Police said they are looking for multiple suspects.

Several callers reported hearing gunfire at 8 p.m. and seeing someone lying on the ground, police said. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds.

Const. Alex Li, spokesperson for the Toronto Police Service, confirmed that the man has died. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Homicide detectives have taken over the investigation. Officers have taped off a large area outside a residential building and were canvassing the neighbourhood on Wednesday night.

Police are urging the public to use caution in the area.
