If you plan to go home during the festival, then the railway is making your journey even easier. The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has implemented new rules for ticket booking in view of festive occasions like Diwali and Chhath. Now seats will be available even five minutes before the train starts.

Railways will now make a new chart for half an hour before the train starts running. Based on this chart, the seats that remain vacant will be allotted to others. Due to Coronavirus, the second chart was being prepared two hours ago, many passengers used to remain upset even after having seats.

If the ticket is canceled even five minutes before the train opens, you will get a refund. This will give relief to the passengers. Especially those travelers who change their plan of travel by train at the last moment will also get relief.

However, this new rule has come into force from October 10. Apart from this, there has been no change in other rules of ticket booking. Passengers must arrive at the station two hours before. According to the earlier rule, after the chart was prepared, the tickets for the remaining seats were booked through the counter. In all zones of the railway, a second reservation chart will be released half an hour before the train opens.
