Covid-19: Vaccines for children under 5 may soon be approved in the US. What you need to know

Covid vaccines for children under 5 may be approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) next month and become available in the US soon after.

The first covid vaccines for people ages 16 and older were approved by authorities in the UK and US in early December 2020, and within days, shots were going into arms. This all took place less than a year after the virus was identified – the fastest vaccine development in history.
