5 life-changing lessons you can learn from the movie ‘Yes Man’

The film released last year but why is it all about life and personal growth? It is indeed a great movie if you are able to extract some vital keys to live life happily. So, let me do the work for you. I have analyzed the movie and learned many important keys to live life as we want.. I will explain the lessons and at the end of each lesson I will describe how we can apply in our life.

OK now let’s get started.

Lesson 5 – Don’t let your past overwhelm you.

This is the final lesson I learned in this film. In Yes Man, Carl will be deeply affected by the divorce and his previous relationship. He took this incident in his life under his control by escaping from his friends and locked himself armed with a few DVD movies to end his time in his apartment.

What you can do: If you’ve really had a lot of pain in your past life, it’s time for you to make a decision to kill them with positive actions. go out with your friends. Spend some time doing what you love. The key is to keep yourself busy until you have had enough time to think about your painful past. You can choose to be happy.

Lesson 4 – Ignoring or avoiding opportunities.

There are many occasions that Carl appears at many events but he refuses them all by saying ‘no’. He was really good at rejecting opportunities. Some of the opportunities that came to him were so precious that they could have been promoted at a very early stage. The word ‘no’ has put him in a place where there will be no development.

What you can do: There will be no growth in life if we keep brushing away the opportunities that appear. On some occasions saying yes to them by taking action can change your life. Now you can start with simple changes, including saying yes to your child having a picnic on the weekend. It can be anything and you just have to remember the key where if you act on the opportunities, your life will grow.

Lesson 3 – Saying yes can open your mind to new possibilities.

After Carl attends the seminar, he will make a covenant to say yes to every opportunity that presents himself. He will be able to explore different areas of life, even a very good experience that will save a man from jumping from his apartment. He learned to play the guitar, learn to fly, even speak Korean.

What you can do: There is a very simple and easy thing that you can do. Let’s do this together as fun. Try saying yes to things you would normally say no to for just a week. You don’t need to push yourself as hard like Carl in the movie but you can do it however you want and desire. Try doing new things like learning a new instrument. Have fun

Lesson 2 – There is nothing wrong with giving to others.

This is true because whatever we give, we get back a hundredfold. Every good thing we do or give to others will come back to us in our favor. There’s a cute example in this movie where Carl will go back home to an old man after attending a seminar and even give all his money to him. This will be somewhat bad for Karl but having given all his money he will find Allison in his life where he will meet her at the petrol station (his last precious gift).

What you can do: Start giving your money to whoever needs it. You don’t have to give everything, but just a portion more. It’s not all because there is something else you can offer in abundance and the good news is it’s free. It can’t be anything other than love. This force is so powerful that it cannot bring so many good things in your life if you do it without any expectation. Start giving money and love to the person who really needs them. You will start seeing changes.

Lesson 1 – Live life the way you really want it.

This is my favorite and most important lesson that I have learned from this film. It’s doing what we really love in our lives. Most of us struggle to do that, even Carl from the movie. Initiating action at every opportunity, he will start living the life he wants.

What you can do: There is an easy and simple thing that you can do to live the life you want. The first step is to find out what your passions are. When you have realized them you can act on them and live life with enthusiasm.

Life should be fun and happy. We are here to enjoy and make use of all the creations of this universe. If not, why are they here? We are only going to come here once so why can’t we live life the way we want to? we really…start saying yes to life now.
